Manchester United star Nikita Parris has departed the club to join Brighton and Hove Albion for an undisclosed fee.
Parris joined the Red Devils after winning the 2022 UEFA Women's Euros with England's Lionesses, departing Arsenal where she spent just 1 year.
Parris has made 57 appearances for United, scoring a total of 25 goals for the club, 8 of which coming from the 23/24 season.
Nikita was also a key part of the United squad that won the Adobe Women's FA Cup in the 23/24 season, earning manager Marc Skinner a contract extension with the club.
The North England team placed 5th in the league last season, gaining 35 points, falling 6 points short of Liverpool who in turn placed 4th.
Brighton and Hove Albion placed 9th during the 23/24 season, struggling in the relegation battle, only 4 points ahead of West Ham United, who faced relegation struggles too.
Parris will join fellow Lioness and Euro winner Fran Kirby, who departed Chelsea after spending almost a decade with the club. Brighton also signed Michelle Agyemang on loan from Arsenal this morning.
Parris recently turned down a $1 million offer from an unknown NWSL side, meaning she remained with Manchester United before going on to win the FA Cup.
Women’s first-team head coach Dario Vidosic said, “We’re delighted to bring a player of Nikita’s ability and experience to the club. It signals our ambition as a club.
“Nikita’s record as a goalscorer speaks for itself and she will help us a lot in that regard.
“She is vastly experienced and will be an excellent role model, particularly for our young players.
She is looking forward to getting stuck into a new challenge and we can’t wait to start working with her ahead of our first WSL game next Saturday against Everton.”
