Forest Women sign Jessica Hennessy.

Nottingham Forest Women have announced the signing of Jessica Hennessy just hours before the transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old joins Forest on a one-year contract from Shamrock Rovers.

The central defender has proven her quality many a time before, with

some of her accolades being: winning Players' Player of the Year in 2023 with Shamrock Rovers, being named in the League of Ireland Team of the Season, as well as earning her place in the Irish WNL Team of the Year.

Hennessy's ability to read the game and break up opposition attacks will add stability to Forest's defence. Her versatility will also complement Forest's emphasis on quick transitions and building from the back, making her a valuable asset in maintaining both defensive discipline and fluid attacking play.

Head of Women and Girls Football, Amber Wildgust added: "We are thrilled to announce the signing of Jessica Hennessy. At just 22, Jessica has already demonstrated impressive composure and technique as a commanding centre-back.

“Her qualities make her an outstanding addition to our defensive line, and we are confident she has a bright future ahead with us at Nottingham Forest.”

Hennessy added: “It feels amazing to have signed for the Club, I can’t waited to get going.

“I think the Club is the perfect fit for me, my motives are the same as Nottingham Forest and I’m just looking forward to meeting all the girls and getting started here.”
