Nottingham Forest Women aim to retain top table position in a clash against Burnley.

Nottingham Forest Women are back in action at the City Ground tomorrow as they aim to retain their top-of-the-table position for the second week running in the Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League.

Carly Davies side currently sit first in the table on twelve points, whilst Rugby Borough trail behind on nine.

Burnley sit at a comfortable third place after they dropped points for the first time in the season last weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Forest secured a dominant 9-0 victory against Stourbridge last weekend as Sophie Domingo scored a hat-trick, after being joined on the scoresheet by Charlie Wellings, Natalie Johnson, Mollie Green, Holly Manders and Melissa Johnson.

“We started the game a little bit slower than we would’ve liked,” said Reds boss Davies. “It can often be hard when you find yourself with a bit more time than you’re used to.

“[There was a] Great response from the girls in the second half, and even towards the back end of the first half, to shift the ball with better speed, better momentum.

“Obviously we created a lot of chances, and nine goals isn’t a bad day at the office, so it’s a pleasing result.”

Burnley, however, fell to their first defeat of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A goal in the first half from Amber Hughes proved to be the difference between the two sides, with Burnley unable to find an equaliser before the break.

In the previous meeting between the two sides competing in tomorrow’s fixture, Forest won 2-1 at home in January, thanks to Mai Moncaster and Alice Keitley.

Adult tickets for tomorrow’s game at the City Ground cost £10, while concessions are £8. Entry for under 13’s costs £6.
