Chloe Kelly joins Arsenal on loan after a 4 and a half year spell at Manchester City. The Lionesses star previously played for the Gunners, before leaving the London club in 2018.

The 27 year old was linked with rival club Manchester United, as well as Brighton, however was rumoured to have turned down a bid from the Seagulls earlier today.
A post on Kelly’s Instagram on the night of January 29th indicated that she wasn’t happy with the treatment she received with the blues, often remaining on the bench during crucial matches, and not gaining many minutes during the 2024/25 season, possibly affecting her shot at a place in the Lionesses squad for the 2025 Euros.
As of December 16th, Kelly has made 75 appearances for city, scoring just 21 goals. With 6 months left on her contract, she has made it clear that she is eager to get minutes which are not available to her at City.
Kelly becomes Arsenal's second signing of the window, announcing US Women’s National Team star Jenna Nighswonger in the early afternoon of January 30th. Arsenal currently sit at 4th in the WSL, just 1 point behind Manchester City, after failing to beat London rivals Chelsea over the weekend.
Kelly joining the Gunners means she is unavailable for their Subway Women’s League Cup fixture against her parent club. Her loan deal runs until the end of the 24/25 season, where Arsenal are able to sign her permanently as a free agent if they wish.
