The Arsenal right-back has joined Manchester City on loan for the rest of the season
after not playing any minutes for her parent club since Christmas. Wienroither will wear the number 13 shirt. The 26-year-old has faced hard competition for a place in the Arsenal squad since the signing of Emily fox and the emerging of academy graduate Kate Reid.

The Austrian international has made 30 appearances for the Gooners since joining in
2022 from TSG Hoffenheim and has scored one goal. Wienroither has made 35
appearances for her nation since 2019 where she graduated from the under-19 side.
In May 2023, Wienroither suffered a ruptured ACL in the 2nd leg of the semi final of
the UEFA women’s champions league against VfL Wolfsburg. She made her return
from injury 328 days later against Bristol City.
Wienroither stated on her arrival at the club: “I’m really happy to be here. I’m relieved
everything’s done now and I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with people who
trust and believe in me. I just hope I can give the trust back. When you have the
chance to sign for a big club like City, I don’t think you have to think a lot about it, at
least I didn’t.”
Manchester City Women Director of Football, Therese Sjogran added: “We’re
delighted to welcome Lauren to the club. She will bring even more quality in the full-
back position and were looking forward to seeing what she can add to our team in
this crucial part of the season.”
