Aston Villa forward, Simone Magill, has announced she will leave the club at the end of the month, as her contract comes to an end.

The 29-year-old joined the Villians from Everton in the summer of 2022, but got off to a rocky start.

Magill sustained ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) whilst out on international duty for Northern Ireland during their opening game of the EURO 2022 campaign.

The striker did not make her debut in the claret and blue shirt until May 2023, and has since gone on to make 21 appearances for the club, scoring one goal against Blackburn Rovers in November.

After Magill's departure was announced, Villa's Head of Women's Football, Lee Billard said:

"Simone's professionalism since her arrival in 2022 has been exemplary.

"Her hard-work and attitude in coming back from a terrible ACL injury was first class, and everyone at the football club was delighted to see her back on the pitch.

"We would like to thank Simone for her time in claret & blue and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavours."

Magill's next challenge will be announced in the 2024 summer transfer window, opening June 24th.
