Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Robert Vilahamn has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
Vilahamn recently took the North London club to their first ever Women’s FA Cup final, where they finished as runners up after losing 4-0 to Manchester United.
The former BK Häcken manager has a wealth of experience under his belt, as he previously coached the Swedish side to second in the league, securing them a place in the UEUFA Women’s Champions League.
Vilahamn joined the Lilywhites on July 7 2023 when he signed a two-year contract.
Based on his success with the club, his new contract will see him remain with the club until 2027.
Under Vilahamns management, Tottenham won eight, drew seven and lost seven of their 22 games during the 2023/24 season, leaving them sixth overall in the league.
The team scored 31 goals and conceded 36, with their top goalscorer being Scotland's Martha Thomas.
In his announcement video posted on the club's Instagram and Twitter accounts (@spurswomen), Vilahamn stated that: ‘It’s been the most fun year ever for [him] as a coach,’ and he has ‘developed more than ever’.
He also mentions that ‘signing a new contract with the club feels amazing’.
Tottenham will kick off their 2024/25 WSL campaign against London rivals, Crystal Palace, who recently received a promotion to the WSL at the end of last season.
The fixture will be held at Gaughan Group Stadium (formerly Brisbane Road), where Spurs will play all of their home fixtures this season.
