The two sides previously faced each other on Wednesday 9th October, which ended in a 3-0 victory to Exeter City Women. However, this fixture is not just the Devon Derby but also a chance for either side to progress into the Third Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. In the October fixture, a crowd of 1,927 cheered on the two sides, with both teams hoping to draw more viewers to the game this Sunday.
Plymouth Argyle
In the last five fixtures, the Pilgrims have won three matches and lost two matches. The Pilgrims were on a winning spell, having won three consecutive matches in a row, before a tough fixture in Saltash last Sunday, resulted in Cheltenham Town taking the 3 points and leaving The Pilgrims defeated. The Pilgrims aim to not only proceed onto the Third Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup but also get back to winning ways.
Exeter City
In the last five fixtures, The Grecians have won three matches, drawn one match and lost one match. In their recent fixture last Sunday, The Grecians were able to comfortably take the three points home after a 6-1 win against MK Dons. Unlike The Pilgrims, The Grecians now have the motivation to aim to win not only the fixture, but also the Devon Derby.
