Nottingham Forest Prepare For League Cup Action.

This weekend sees Nottingham Forest host Peterborough United in the second round of the FA Women’s National League Cup.

Nottingham Forest come into the clash with a high profile, as they are yet to be defeated after nine games, clenching onto the prime spot within the FA Women’s National League Northern Premiere Division.

Peterborough United currently sit first within the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands, with a 4-point advantage over close followers, Northampton Town. They also remain undefeated.

For their last outing, Nottingham Forest snatched a last-minute Derby Day against Derby County. A late brace from Charlie Wellings saw Forest claim all three points on the road, despite a good fight from the Ewes.

When reflecting upon last weekend’s outing, Reds Manager, Carly Davies said: “After last season, it was important that we cleared three points over the line. We were trying something a little bit different, structurally we didn’t get that right on the day, which I think is why we didn’t look quite like ourselves. But, as I said at the time, it’s important that we evolve our playing style, and I am really confident that once it clicks, it’ll be so important for us. To say we weren’t at our best, we still had opportunities to kill the game within the first half, so that’s certainly something we will be looking at over the coming weeks.”

Looking forward to the cup fixture, Davies added: “We are looking forward to this weekend’s fixture. The opposition are doing really well retrospectively in their own league – top of the league, scored a lot of goals. I am really, really impressed with the action I have reviewed from them. I think it will be a really exciting fixture.”

Adult tickets for tomorrow’s game at Grange Park cost £10, whilst concessions are £8. Entry for under-13s costs £6.
