Michelle Kang invests $50M into women's sport.

Michelle Kang has recently announced that she will be investing $50m into improving the health of elite female athletes.

Kang currently owns three football clubs - Lyon, Washington Spirit as well as the London City Lionesses - and has stated her intentions to improve the quality of life and health for female athletes.

After announcing the launch of Kynisca Sports International Ltd, Kang said she hopes this will mark a "new era for female athletic potential" that would come with "lasting change."

Kynisca is the first multi-team global organisation dedicated to women's soccer.

Unveiled at an event in France, Kang stated she has set a goal to raise $100m to support it's mission, and she has invested $50m in seed funding and matching donations.

It is understood that the money will be used to help provide players a variety of benefits, including: The best playing and training environments, access to world-class technical staff, and a driving innovation and sports science.

"Kynisca will become a pioneer of female performance research so we can stop training women as if they are simply small men and unlock their true potential," Kang said.

“We will provide opportunities for girls and women worldwide to access high-level sport, reach their potential under the best conditions, and play football in the clubs of the global elite,”
