Left-back Alejandra Bernabe has joined Liverpool for the remainder of the season.

The twenty-three-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer of 2023 from Atletico Madrid,
when she signed a three-year deal. Bernabe spent last season on loan at Real
Sociedad, making 31 appearances there. She returned to Chelsea in the summer, but
things haven’t worked out for her. She made her debut in the last league game of 2024.
She came on for the last 15 minutes against Leicester City.
That was her only appearance in the league, along with one in the Subway Women’s
League Cup, where she came on as a substitute against Durham, where Chelsea won
5-0.
Liverpool stated, “We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Alejandra Bernabe
from Chelsea until the end of the season.”
Bernabe stated on her arrival at the club: “I know that this is a big club and it’s a
pleasure for me to be here. Yeah, it’s a dream. I’m so happy and I’m so excited. I will
give 100 percent always. I’m so grateful to be here and I’m looking forward to meeting
all of you (the fans).”
Bernabe is an attacking full-back, left-footed, good on the ball. She also said in her first
interview, “I’m the type of person who gives a lot of energy. I like to run a lot, and I can
be aggressive. We (the club) want to be nearer the teams at the top of the table. I know
last season the team did very well to finish in the top four, so we need to play in every
moment 100 percent."
Liverpool have now completed three loan deals this month, bringing in Bayern Munich’s
Sam Kerr, Chelsea’s Julia Bartel, and now Alejandra Bernabe.
