Honoka Hayashi joins Everton.

Everton have announced the signing of Honoka Hayashi.

The 26 year old takes a trip up north to join Everton, after spending 2 seasons at West Ham United.

The length of her contract is currently unknown, however her market value is roughly £55k.

The Japanese international made 50 appearances for the Hammers, scoring a total of 3 goals for the East London club, making her WSL debut in a 1-0 win over Everton.

Hayashi has also made 33 senior appearances for Japan, as well as 8 appearances for the Under-20s and 3 appearances for the Under-19s.

She represented Japan at the 2020 Tokyo summer Olympics, appearing in all three of their four games.

The midfielder also appeared in three games during the 2023 FIFA World Cup hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

When speaking to Everton, Hayashi said: £I am honoured to join such a big club as Everton,

“I was looking for a new challenge, and I will do everything I can to help the Club succeed.

"I am looking forward to playing in front of the amazing fans."

Manager Brian Sorensen added: "It’s great to welcome Honoka to the Club.

“In our system with our central players, they need to be dynamic and comfortable on the ball. Honoka fits that perfectly.

“She’s a player who does her job well, works extremely hard and can work the ball in tight spaces."

She will join the club after the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she is set to represent Japan in the women's football sector.
