Freya Gregory Joins Newcastle United Women in Permanent Move from Aston Villa

Freya Gregory has joined Newcastle United Women on a permanent deal from Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old winger made 31 appearances for the Villains producing her first senior goal against former club Birmingham City.
Gregory spent time at Southampton in the women’s Championship earlier this season, where she made 11 appearances in all competitions and contributed two goals for the Saints, including the opener in the draw against the Magpies in September.
Gregory has been involved in loan moves to Leicester City and Reading whilst her time at Aston Villa. She joined Leicester City in 2022 and made 11 appearances, and Reading in 2023 making eight appearances. The winger has also made appearances
for England youth teams and is currently in the under 23 squad.
“I can’t wait to be a part of the city and the club to see where this journey will take us all” Gregory told Newcastle on signing for the club.
Head coach Becky Langley said: “Freya is an exciting winger who can terrorise defenders with her speed and one-on-one ability. I love her ability to touch and deliver with quality.”
