Erin Cuthbert Extends Her Stay With the Blues

Chelsea have announced that Erin Cuthbert, the 26-year-old midfielder, has signed a contract extension with the club, with the deal lasting until summer of 2027.

In 2016, Cuthbert joined Chelsea from Glasgow City. Since then she has become the second longest current serving player for Chelsea, with making her 250 appearances earlier this season.

Cuthbert has been named in the PFA WSL Team of the Year in both 2018-19 and 2023-24. With the Blues, she has won six Women’s Super League titles, four FA cups, two League cups and the Community shield.

After making her international debut for Scotland as a teenager in June 2017, she has won 74 caps and scored 23 times. Cuthbert attended the 2017 European Championship and the 2019 World cup with Scotland. She has been named Scotland Women’s Player of the Year in both 2019 and 2021.

Cuthbert commented on her commitment to Chelsea: ‘It’s been eight years, but the feeling of playing for this club never goes away. It’s a good time to reflect on how far I’ve come over the last eight years. If you had said to the girl who joined Chelsea eight years ago that she would still be here, I wouldn’t have believed you. I have fallen in love with a club and they have fallen in love with me. That’s special.’

Head of Women’s football, Paul Green, expressed his belief in Cuthbert's abilities: ‘Erin is one of the leaders of the team and now in her prime. She has been a

key player in our success over the last eight years and recently surpassed 250 appearances for

the club, which is a testament to her reliability and consistency.’

With Chelsea still in contention for all four competitions this season, Chelsea will be eager to

continue to see Cuthbert perform for the blues
