Aurora Galli signs new contract with Everton.

Midfielder Aurora Galli has signed a new contract with Everton, keeping her at the club for a fourth season.

The 27-year-old joined Everton in the summer of 2021from Juventus and has since gone on to be regular feature in Brian Sorensen’s side, missing only three games in the last season.

Galli has made 57 appearances for the Merseyside club and has scored four goals.

Her versatility makes her a stand-out player within the Women’s Super League as her ability to play in both the role of a midfielder and a wing-back role has saved Everton in times of need.

The Italian international told Evertontv: “I’m very excited to continue on as an Everton player.

“There is a built-up relationship here with everyone at the Club. I enjoy seeing everyone, I’ve grown with this group and the fans. I cannot wait for the season to get started.

“There is real potential with this group. We have unfinished work from last season because we played good football but made too many mistakes.

“This season isn’t about transition; it’s about showing what we have learnt and what we are capable of doing.”

Brian Sorensen added: “I’m delighted we were able to extend Yaya’s stay at Everton.

“When we moved her into a freer role last season, she did really well.

“Hopefully we can build on that this season and she can be even more dangerous in front of goal.

“She has that potential, and it was key for us to keep a player of her quality on board.

“Yaya isn’t even in her prime yet, there is still so much for her to give to the Club and for the Italy national team.”

The length of Galli’s contract extension remains undisclosed.
