UEFA Women’s Nation League – Spain V Belgium Match Preview

The UEFA Women’s Nation League kicks off this week with some cracking fixtures
taking place. The current World Cup winners are taking on Belgium in League A,
group three. The match takes place on Friday the 21 st February at 17:45 at Ciutat de
València.

The two sides have previously had 12 meetings with Spain winning 9 and Belgium
only winning the one match. The sides came face to face with each other twice last
year for the UEFA Women’s Championship Qualification with Spain coming away
with both wins, one of them being a thrilling 7-0 win and the other being a closer
game but the Spaniards coming away with a 2-0 win. Both sides are currently in
good form with them both being unbeaten in their last four matches.
Montse Tomé has selected a strong squad for the two upcoming Nation league
matches with many of the World Cup squad members present, but has missed out a
few key players such as Jenni, Misa and Alexia. Belgium manager Elísabet
Gunnarsdottir has confirmed Teulings and Helsen will both meet up with the squad
for the upcoming fixture against Portugal.
