Tottenham Hotpsur v Brighton and Hove Albion - Press Conference

Before Tottenham's game away to Brighton, Robert Vilahamn spoke on his current squad by giving us injury updates and preparation for a “deal breaker game if we want to compete in the top five or six.”

Going into this game, Tottenham have had a successful run beating Everton and Crystal Palace over the last week. “I feel like the character in what we want to do is not always shown when we are winning, it's how you can come back from when you lose a few games as well.”

Player availability:

“Becky Spencer was on the grass today but she had a sickness and is getting back from that so probably she is not in the squad for tomorrow. Otherwise we look really strong.”

If Tottenham win this fixture, it will be a fourth win in a row for them. “When you become very consistent, that's when you're a top team. If you look at the top teams in the league, all of them won 4-0 in their last game. When you come to that level when you win the games even when you don't have the best day and so on then you are a top team.”

“I think they(Brighton) are quite similar to where we were last season, with a new coach coming in… and some quite good signings I must say, I mean they signed some top top players and they have performed very well. Of course they have some moments in the game when they struggle and some games where they actually compete with the top teams, so I'm impressed…they are up there to try and break into the top as well just like us so it's going to be a tough game but also Brighton is one of the teams we want to be better than.”

After the game is the winter break, “To go on a break with possibly 4 wins in a row, you will have a long time where you feel like you're unbeatable and that's going to be good for your self-confidence.”. “We are taking the players back already in the middays before the new year to make sure we have some good training over the new year because we play a friendly game the first week after new year, then the cup game two weeks in.”
