Sweden Triumphs 2-1 Over Denmark in Nations League Showdown

Denmark hosted Sweden for the opening game of the women’s Nations League in group 4.
Stina Blackstenius kicked off the game for Sweden.

With a confident start from both teams, both teams had early opportunities.
Sweden got an early fifth minute corner, with Bennison sending the ball into the box which was swiftly cleared until Bennison was able to send the ball back into the box. With many players in the box everyone tried to get a touch, until Sembrant was able to open the scoreline with a tap- in.
Denmark continued to push for an equaliser. Obaze passed the ball through to Thogerson who sent the ball into the box, where the ball was missed by Denmark players. However, it hit the hand of Kaneryd, which ultimately gave Denmark a penalty.
Pernille Harder shot the ball into the bottom left hand with Falk heading the right hand side, the game was equalised.
HALF TIME: 1-1
Sweden pushed for a second goal quickly, with Rolfo hitting the net in the 53rd minute. From the outside of the box, she stunned Denmark's defense, shooting the ball in the top left corner to put Sweden ahead.
Denmark made 3 subs soon after, Denmark became more controlled after these were made.
Sweden continued to push for more.
Sweden were able to hold out for the rest of the game, despite Denmark's attempts to equalise.

Denmark and Sweden now push their focus onto their next games next Tuesday.
