Scotland vs Netherlands - Match Preview

On Tuesday 25 th February, Scotland are set to take on the Netherlands at Hampden Park in League A – Group one of the UEFA Women’s Nations League. This match will be broadcast live across BBC Scotland, BBC iplayer and the BBC Sport Website, with a 7:30 kickoff (GMT).

Scotland's made ten changed to the squad which travelled to Helsinki in December against Austria on Friday; the Chelsea midfielder Erin Cuthbert has withdrawn from the squad due to injury. The Netherlands midfielder Daniëlle Van De Donk has also withdrawn due to picking up an injury against Germany.

Scotland Interim Head Coach, Micheal McArdle said:” I’m looking forward to being home and I know that as a group, we will give everything.”

“We know it’ll be tough, and we’ll have to play with bravery.”

Both sides are yet to get a win in the competition with the Netherlands getting a 2-2 draw against Germany and Scotland losing 1-0 to Austria in the opening game, meaning both teams currently sit 3 rd and 4 th in the league. This will be the 12 th meeting between the sides, with the Oranges winning seven and Scotland winning four of the fixtures.

The sides will meet again in June before the Netherlands set of to Switzerland for the Euros where they will face England, Wales and France in the group stage. Scotland failed to secure a place in the upcoming tournament after freezing the second leg playoff in Finland.
