On Sunday the 10th of November, Liverpool will host Chelsea at St Helens Stadium. This is a consecutive weekend in Liverpool for Chelsea as last weekend, they faced Everton.
So far, home side Liverpool have played six matches and currently sit in 6th place in the league with seven points - they will be hoping to build on this.
For Chelsea, they currently have a perfect win record this season. Sonia Bompastor’s side have played five games and won all of them so far. They currently sit 2nd in the table, below Manchester City who have played one game extra.
Last weekend, Liverpool made the trip to Villa Park where they faced Aston Villa and successfully beat them with a brace from Taylor Hinds. Chelsea continued to show their dominance as last weekend they faced Everton and won 0-5 with five different goalscorers.
Last time these two teams faced, Liverpool beat Chelsea in a thrilling game which finished 4-3. In this game, so close to the end of the season it looked as though this game determined who would win the league title. Matt Beard’s side are certainly a team who can put on a great performance and they will be determined to win this game.
In Sonia Bompastor’s press conference, regarding the team news she clarified that Lucy Bronze and Catarina Macario are back in contention for squad selection this weekend. When asked about team selection, Bompastor stated those who are playing will be “the most competitive ones in this week's training.”
Matt Beard looked ahead to this game and he echoed the confidence in his side by stating “We know this is going to be a tough test as they have got such a world-class side, but as I always say, we know we can beat anyone on our day.”
The game kicks off at 12:30pm GMT and will be streamed live on BBC.
