A place in the FA Cup quarter final is up for grabs today, and Crystal Palace are hosting a clash against Newcastle United, with both teams desperate to make history with a win.

Crystal Palace have been playing in the WSL this season, despite having a rough season so far and sitting 12th in the league, they have some hope today whilst playing in the Championship. Palace have reached this stage of the competition three times in the past six seasons, with fifth-round appearances in 2019/20, 2020/21 and most recently in 2023/24, but missed out each time with losses against some of the top teams, losing to Brighton, Arsenal and Chelsea respectively.
Palace thrived in the previous round, winning 6-1 against Championship side Sheffield United, getting them to today's game.
The visitors have made history by getting to this point for the first time, after beating National League’s Nottingham Forest in the previous round. Newcastle are currently sitting at 7th in the Championship table, sitting at just six points from the top in an extremely close race for the title. From becoming a full time professional club at the end of the 2022/23 season, Newcastle have had back-to-back promotions ever since, and have risen to the challenge under the management of Becky Langley, who has been in charge for over 100 games.
Newcastle’s Shania Hayles holds the top spot in the Championship for the most goals this season, with 9 goals across the 16 games played. Crystal Palace will be keeping an eye on her throughout the fixture.
Today’s game will be available to watch on the Adobe Women's FA Cup YouTube channel, along with all the other games across the WSL and Championship that are taking place today. Crystal Palace V Newcastle will be kicking off at 13:00.
Whichever team wins the game today will progress to the quarter finals, with the draw taking place at 18:30 on Tuesday 11th February. This will be done live from Wembley Stadium, and will be streamed on the Adobe Women's FA Cup YouTube channel.
