Following her arrival in 2021 from PSV Eindhoven, the 25 year old defender has extended her
contract until the summer of 2026.

The Dutch international made her debut for PSV in 2016 at the age of 17. She continued her
career with PSV to lift the KNVB Cup in the 2020/2021 season and made more than 101
appearances for the club until 2021.
She signed for Chelsea in 2021 and quickly had the opportunity in the starting 11, making her
first start in October 2021 against Leicester City. Later in the 2021/2022 season she achieved
both the WSL trophy and started in the FA Cup final win against Manchester City. In the second half of the 2022/2023 season, Nouwen went on loan to AC Milan making 11 appearances.
Nowen said: ‘I am very grateful for this extension and the trust. I am looking forward to returning to action and continuing my journey.’
While on international duty with the Netherlands U-23s last season, Nouwen sadly sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury. This has kept her out of play since then.
Paul Green (Head of women's football) explained: "Aniek continues to make good progress with her rehabilitation and we are happy to extend her contract. We will monitor her fitness over the course of this month with a view to a possible loan move this window."
